That Was The Week That Was #15

Happy Sunday readers! What a lovely day it is 🙂 I’ve been a busy bee this week with an appearance on BBC Radio Bristol to talk about baking, updating my site and work. I had a lovely night out last night for my friend’s birthday, and today Mike and I are planning a walk with the pups and Sunday lunch somewhere nice.

That Was The Week That Was #14

Apologies for this post coming a little later in the day than I would have liked! It’s been kind of a busy day today… And – EXCITING – I bought a new camera today! So hopefully you might see an improvement in my photos. Fellow bloggers – any advice?

I had my first ever radio appearance about Eat Sleep Bake Repeat this week which I loved! This week I’ll be appearing on BBC Radio Bristol and again need to take something baked in… I reckon these people just want free cake! I’m planning on doing a few dry runs tomorrow.

That Was The Week That Was #10

This week I have mostly been working. Work work and very little play. I’ve spent a fair amount of time down on the Somerset Levels this week assisting with the flood situation down there. It really is horrendous – you can’t imagine the scale of the devastation until you see it for your own eyes. It’s like being in the middle of the sea, except there are a few houses and trees here and there. Entire villages have been cut off and people are being evacuated out of their lifetime homes to local village halls and places of safety. Worse still, the rain shows no signs of abating.

If you would like to donate to assist with the aid please visit the Somerset Emergency Flood Relief Appeal Fund. FYI – I have no affiliation to this charity, it’s just a link to give money to people who really need it at the moment.

On a lighter note… We have a new puppy! Exciting!! We only got him today and are still undecided on names, so once he is settled in I will share more.

That Was The Week That Was #9

This week has been fairly non-descript, although I have been quite busy seeing friends and working. Mike and I have enjoyed a rare weekend off together and have been out both nights. Today we took a stroll along the river with Lola and have had a naughty curry to round off the weekend!

Yesterday we went to see some bulldog puppies… No decision as of yet but hopefully soon we may have a new addition!

That Was The Week That Was #8

It’s been a week of highs and lows this week, but overall it’s been a good one. I reached 100 followers on this blog (yay, and thank you!), had a lovely date night with the boy, and had some great news at work. We also went to see The Wolf Of Wall Street – this film is freaking awesome – if you only see one film this month, see this one.

That Was The Week That Was #6

I’m guessing for most people, this past week has seen you all returning for work. Not for me, we packed off Lola to Nanny’s and went been skiing! We had a great time with our friends and managed to come home relatively injury free. Tomorrow brings my return to work, and the start of me trying to eat a little healthier. I’ve got some great recipes coming up, including the lemon drizzle cake which featured in last week’s TWTWTW and some spicy healthy chickpeas, but for now here are some snaps from the last week…

That Was The Week That Was #5

As weeks go, this has been a pretty good one. It has involved a lot of shopping (oops), a fair amount of partying, drinking and eating (double oops), and an obscene amount of Dexter and Gossip Girl watching (no regrets). I’ve got a busy week next week so if you comment and I don’t reply straight away please don’t be offended!

That Was The Week That Was #4

TWTWTW was supposed to be a Sunday post, but over the festive period I’ve sort of lost track of days and only just realised today that is Monday – Oops! I hope you’ve had a fantastic Christmas. I had a lovely Christmas Day, with lots of fab presents. We had another Christmas gathering last night with Mike’s family where we had a little buffet and snacky food, and I’m gearing up for tomorrow night when we’re having a little gathering. Plus, it’s my birthday! Celebrations all round.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas has been, it’s treated me well, and now it’s almost over. I’ve had a fantastic meal made by a great cook, have walked the dog, gone for a run, over-eaten, opened presents and snoozed. I’ve also spared a thought to all of the people who weren’t lucky enough to have a proper Christmas Day – the emergency service workers. They are sacrificing their day to keep us safe, let’s not forget it.

I’m very thankful for all of my fantastic friends and family, for my health and my happiness. 2013 has been a great year for me. I got engaged and have bought our new home. This time next year I’ll be married, but for now I am enjoying a lovely Christmas day.
